Andy Smart grew up in the Denver area participating in competitive high school marching bands and the Blue Knights drum and bugle corps constantly until he finished four years of music performance study on trumpet at the University of Colorado in Boulder. After his drum corps age-out year, Andy went directly on to perform with Blast! in London, Broadway, and across the U.S. on the national tour as a featured trumpet soloist.
Andy’s participation in the marching arts over time earned him the position as brass caption head at the Blue Knights very soon thereafter. He has also been arranging music for competitive marching bands and drum corps all over the U.S. and Japan for nearly ten years now. Andy feels very fortunate to be involved with the Marching Network and is excited to expand his musical creative outlet to be available to more great bands!
